FIBROMYALGIA

This exhibition addresses the health condition fibromyalgia (a disorder that causes chronic, widespread pain in the body's muscles and soft tissues, along with fatigue, sleep problems, and cognitive impairments). This condition affects 90% of women, and it doesn't kill them, but it disrupts their entire lives. I draw a parallel between the chairs (which evoke the absent body) and the women figuratively or abstractly represented in the circular textiles. I connect both elements with interconnecting threads of fibers.
